Deck Wash Before/After

Here’s a deck wash we did this week. Mold and Mildew was about 1/4" thick.

DS’d F18, 15 minute dwell, Rinsed, DS’d F8, 15 minute dwell, Rinsed

Huge difference, nice. Did you use same products on railings, they look much better also.

Thank you! I used a regular house wash mix on the railings.

That looks great. What was your rinse method on the F18 and F8?
Awesome job.
Joe

Those are awesome results!! what was your F18/Water mix ratio? What pressure were you using for the rinse?(Like what gpm unit and what size tip)

That’s great work!

When I am just doing a wash I will throw a two pound jar of F-18 into a fiver and mix. Then downstream. Followed with F-8 at 9 oz. per gallon downstreamed.

Interested in the mix that was used on this job as well.

and @ dalmatianlawncare I did exactly what GTRider says in the post above this, then I rinsed with housewash tips (I used the “rinse low” fan tip…It’s a bit higher pressure, but not enough to do any damage). I use s 4gpm, 4000psi direct drive right now.

Thank you guys for the compliments! And thank you GTRider245 for all the helpful advice.

Thanks for the feedback.
Great job

I have been doing some reading on F18/8 etc. Does anyone have any feedback as to points of caution when using them chems?
Should you be careful about getting it on siding, painted areas (like painted rails or trim) etc. It would seem just from reading like it could be a problem for areas that have oil based paints. I could be wrong, any thougths?
Thanks
Joe

It would seem if I am understanding things properly that if the job was not a restain prep, that F 10 and then F 8 would also be an option?
Joe

I haven’t had any trouble with it, but I rinse everything around the work area REALLY well…I lean toward the over cautious side, I sleep a lot better at night that way, LOL. Plus, I flush my system by DSing water, so rinsing the surrounding areas gives me something to do with that water.

Ok, good to know. I have some chemicals on the way. I have a very old treks deck and a pressure treated deck at my house that are both terrible. Should be a good learning tool. Thanks again.
Joe

Roger that, Thanks for sharing…Onto the next one right!>

When I started I used sodium percarbonate on wood that just needed cleaning. Your clean time will be quicker even with neutralizing if you use the right mix of F-18.

You shouldn’t have to follow F-10 with F-8.

Just be careful and try not to get f18 on you. it can burn like a mother sometimes not always. remember to wet nearby plants.

One more question if you guys don’t mind. I read 9oz per gallon for downstreaming on the F8. Is that 9oz by weight or volume?
It may not matter, I have not checked to see how it compares. But it F18 comes in 2lb jars so that is easy. The F8 came in a 10lb bag. I am going to repackage it anyway so I though I would put it in the proper amounts. I would assume it is volume i.e. a cup is 8oz so do about a cup per gallon 5-6 cups for a 5 gallon bucket of mix. Or would it be 45oz by weight. Just wonder what you guys meant. Thanks for the help.
Joe

I just went and checked 32oz of F8 by volume weighted 2lbs exactly. So I guess it does matter too much. I just made two pound containers, that should mix a full container downstreamed with 3.5 gal of water. If I am understanding right. Thanks again
