This is a rough idea of what I’m planning on getting for my rig, this doesn’t include hoses, the majority of the plumbing, chem, my 12v sys, hoses, reels or lances and that’s because I’m having trouble deciding so if you have any recommendations let me know! Any suggestions on changes to my list are appreciated, thanks!
Just a heads up, those plumbing kits are out of stock (as of when I called a week ago). Says they’re in stock online but when I called to place the order they verbally told me they’re out of stock.
either upgrade to the 22hp vtwin, or downgrade the pump to 5.6 gpm or less. You won’t be able to do any pressure cleaning, lile concrete, with the current config. You’d have around 2000 psi max with the 420cc and 6.8 gpm.
Turbo needs to be sized correctly for your machine. Pressuretek has some good ones. Plan on spending $40-70 for a good turbo. And you might only use it twice a year, for bricks or a concrete stoop.
not sure where the stainless 1” ball valve fits into your plumbing plan. Anything that big, you can do with polypropylene (i.e., Banjo) or pvc. But that is a good price
stick with PTek and other pw’ing vendors, if you can. Also, 4.0 is too small for what you’re looking to do. Use a nozzle chart to find what you need. And use a HP/pressure/flow calculator to decide what your machine will be capable of.
the higher pressure tips that come with these kits really don’t belong on a housewashing lance. Too high pressure to safely clean all surfaces. I have a 3 nozzle setup; all low pressure. 0° shooter, 5°, and 25°, IIRC.
Also, would you change the motor or downgrade the pump? Instead of the turbo with the tips and the 4 tip bar I should just get a 2 nozzle then and a turbo separate?
Depends on what you’re working with budgetwise, as well as the capacity of your vehicle. But I do know one member here who has an 8gpm machine in his small enclosed trailer, that he tows with a Sienna… so I guess anything is possible.
If you upgrade to the 22hp, it would make sense to just go to a full 8gpm setup. 65 gallon buffer is pretty small for that size machine. Most people who run an 8 have 125 gallons or more of buffer. That’s a lot more weight and space.
Downgrading to a smaller pump will be easier and cheaper. But depending on your workload, you will outgrow it sooner or later.
And yes, turbo and surface cleaner should be two separate things. I didn’t see a link associated with the turbo item, so I’m not entirely sure what you had in mind.
It’ll give you around 2500 psi. It’s what I have. But I don’t do hardly any concrete. I’m told 2500 psi is sufficient for residential, but not commercial concrete, provided you don’t have too many restrictions in your plumbing layout.
There’s not too many concrete driveways where I live anyway it’s mostly sidewalks so I can just run it over twice, I’m actually getting a new truck it’s kind of junk but I can get it really cheap it’s a V6 2WD Automatic with a small truck bed, I’m not even sure of the model I just got the call yesterday and the call got caught off.
