Any comments on this? Doesn’t have to be on par with big name brands just want to make sure it isn’t terrible , for at least a backup hose.

Preface: I’ve never used it, but have seen this brand popping up in big box stores recently.
Maybe in a pinch if a hose blew, I didn’t have a spare on the truck, and I needed something that day to get the job finished… I’d grab it over the 50ft simpson they sell for the same price… but I wouldn’t keep it on the truck as a back up, especially since “big name” brands can be had for not much more.
When I factor in shipping this seems to be about half price. Locally my place charges too much.
Not a bad price. I ordered a couple 50’ sections to try out.
Southside, Envirospec, and PressureTek all carry 100ft non-marking grey single-wire hoses in the $160–170 range (taxed and shipped to me). The one you’re looking at would come out to $136 (taxed and picked up). For me, a $35 difference isn’t worth rolling the dice on an unknown or unproven hose. If you do grab it, I’d be curious to hear your review.
Just checked south side and pressure tek and both came out to 173 and 180 with shipping and tax. The unknown Lowe’s would be 111 with store pickup.
I agree though on unknown hose brand doesn’t sound like fun if things go bad lol.
Only had one hose go bad and it was a gentle hole mid hose so no danger. Has anyone had a hose actually like violently explode near them ?
I’ve had four hoses blow on me since starting in 2018, all have popped within 25’ of the end.
I was due for a ‘pop’ last year, but I switched to a K1 unloader and so far the hose has held up. I think not having 3000psi constantly in the hose has extended the lifespan.
It has to, the last hole I got didn’t even leak until I was off the gun but I don’t have a K1.
I highly recommend the K1 if you can use it on your machine, a serious game changer. I’d rank it up there with the switch from 4 to 8gpm.
For $111 it might be worth picking up and testing it out.
I’ve only ever gotten pinpricks in my hoses, they mist a little when on trigger… never had any burst or whip around like a fire hose in a cartoon.
Yeah, I’m gonna get a couple but won’t get a chance to use it for a while. I think because I just replaced a hose this year.
this is huge and should be common sense but its easy to overlook. There’s literally no drawback to flow actuated unloader vs pressure trapped. Switch to a flow actuated unloader and extend the life of everything. I had a suttner gun cause problems with leaking (nope not o-rings) with just 3 months of a pressure trapped unloader (all be it pretty heavy use 3 months but stillllll). Switched to flow actuated and my shoulders/wrists thank me (lol) and my hoses and guns seem to be holding up better.
It looks like the k1 unloader is only rated to 165 degrees Fahrenheit. What unloader are you guys recommending for heated units?
It would not matter for the unloader because it would be in placed before the hot water coil. Now for the rest of the system it would be a different story.
Good call, wasn’t visualizing big picture. Thank you
