Is the DS twist worth the $70 from pressuretek ? We’re fleet washers with 6gm machines but do wash a house here and there with the Jrod nozzles, Just wondering if im missing out and should add this to the arsenal. Thanks for the advice fellas.
I like the Jrod better becuase it has more pressure. I hate when the twist spins on the gun and doesn’t open or close when I adjust it.
My appalachian american brother, I have used it for about 5 years for HW. I don’t use it to restore decks. I like it, but the “jet” or “stream” setting on it can be a little jagged and not as clean a line as I get off the high low on the jrod. I hate the jrod and keep changing things. Just a twist and I’m good. I haven’t had the problems that bill is describing. I use mine with an 8 gpm unit.
Rubber scrubbers doing houses, man, what has the industry come too?
Edit: I would say I mainly use it on the wider fan setting and only use the stream or jet settings on gutters/peaks. I run the fan with the siding overlap to prevent weepers/runout. Works well. Of course the wind sometimes say “oh no you don’t” and I get sprayed in the face then have to work the other direction.
I love it. I keep it on a two-piece nozzle holder with a shooter tip, and it’s handled everything I’ve needed for house washing. It’s never spun while adjusting the spray pattern, probably thanks to the holder, but I do intentionally rotate it to switch between horizontal, vertical, or anywhere in between instead of tweaking my wrist to get the right angle.
The only other nozzles I use are a yellow and a green, running at 1200 psi and 2900 psi. Like @Dirtyboy mentioned, it doesn’t give as crisp of a line, so I’ve found that dedicated nozzles work better for wood boards and the edges of concrete where the surface cleaner can’t reach.
I don’t like it because I don’t see much advantage over a J rod and shooter tip and it does cause more mist.
@Dirtyboy , Don’t get all excited, We only wash houses for my customers that we wash fleets for, So maybe 10 ish houses a year . Can’t have any plant killing SH slingers around my parts ,they might get smart ideas and want to start rubber scrubin. Can’t have that around here my friend. Thank you for the advice on the m5 twist fine Sir.
Hope you are doing well. Don’t forget to post the occasional pic on here of those rigs you shine. I love to see your work, especially those polish jobs. Some day I’m going to have to go learn how to do that.
Like @OhioFloMo said, the thing I like about it the most is spinning the top for the angle instead of torquing my wrist around.
I exclusively use the twist for houses. It doesn’t have enough stank to do wood well so I switch it out if it needs real pressure.
I have 2. One is a 2-3gpm unit, and the other is a 3-7gpm. I will swap out for the lower one if I want a little more stank. Most of the time it’s set up on my 12v roof pump setup. Have used them for 4 seasons now and never heard a problem with them.
