Custom pressure washing Van

Sorry about that!
I had dropped to the bottom and did not read all of them.
Got the info. Van looks great!

Ralph ,
How do you price your gutter cleaning? If you can share that info.

My gutter cleaning starts at $59. Thats for the first 30 minutes or less. There is a lot of homes that only have gutters above their pool enclosure. That usually takes about a half hour. It goes up $15 every 15 minutes after that. Most houses take about an hour and the average is $90. There are some big houses that I charge $160. It all depends. I’m slowly raising my prices to see how far I can go. Florida is the land of lowballing, and there is no loyalty from customers. 90% of the homes around here are 1 story, they are easy and quick. I don’t know about Athens, but just being out of Florida I would start at $79-$89 for the easy ones and go up from there. I make between $450 - $550 per day cleaning gutters, depending on drive time. I make more cleaning gutters than pressure washing, only because there are several hundred pressure washers per square mile in Florida. They all clean gutters but a lot of them don’t advertise it.

Ralph,
Thanks for the info on pricing.
I plan to purchase a vacuum system that will do two story houses. Do you use a vacuum system or just clean by hand and rinse?
I saw a thread yesterday about catching debri from roof cleaning and keeping the chem’s of the grass. They were using a long plastic bag and catching all liguids.Have you considered using a
Laundry bag and taping them to down spouts to catch runoff debri?

As for Athens Ga. it is hilly and some homes are two story on a basement.

Again thanks!

I’ve tried everything except those giant vacuums. I have an industrial wet vac that works but is limited. It gets bogged down and can’t suck up wet shingle sand that is hardened. It’s no good if there are sticks and twigs present. I do everything by hand and it is just as fast as any other method. I use garbage bags on the end of the downspouts if the debris is going to go somewhere where it makes a mess(driveway, pool deck, etc). A laundry bag will not hold shingle sand or muddy water. If the downspout is going on the grass or some patch of dirt, I’ll just scoop it up when I’m done. Well I’m off to clean three gutters and softwash a house. Later.

this is a really sweet setup. i have and extended e250. tons of room but that freaking 125 gal leg tank takes up so much space. i would love to use something like what you’ve got.

couple questions: where did you get the roof vent, and how did you install?

how did you attach the tanks to the van walls?

Thanx for the compliments. Kinda just took a risk on this all working and it’s been great use of space for me.
The tanks are bolted to a huge bench style frame that I had made at my fab shop same as the shelfs. I’ll try mad find a pic and post what they look like.

As for the roof vent it was $380 from a local truck outfitter and is made by Flettner. It’s pretty pricey but well worth it now that I’ve seen what it can do. I don’t even smell gas or chems anymore (probably because I’m used to it ) but it is great and install was easy. Drill a 3 5/8 hole with 2 other small 1/8 inch holes for the mounting bracket and then just one single nut from the inside to hold it all together. It’s been a life saver especially on hot days and both gas and jerry cans heat up.

Pretty sure there are PTO options for your van. Might not be feasible for your setup, but man would that be cool…

PTO?

Power Take-Off. Common on tractors for running auxiliary devices, but also a available on certain commercial vehicles. Good example is the Butler system for carpet cleaning vans. The pumps and vacuums are run right off the van’s drivetrain, so you’ve got a lot of HP at your disposal, without the complications of running gas motors inside an enclosed van. You also get more room for other equipment without the motors and fuel tanks.

If I had the dough, I’d find a decent used ‘Butler’ van and convert it for power washing.

That could be interesting. That could allow for a pretty big pump then!

Seriously! And that butler system also has a heat exchanger that runs off the coolant system to heat the water. It probably wouldn’t be enough to heat your wash water on-demand, but it could supplement a burner (allowing you to use a smaller unit).

I wonder how big of a pump we could run off my 5.7L V 8
