I thought about asking you about these today, regular blend manifold always has a new leak. And since the bulletproof injector from PW Gadgets works great…

What keeps this one from leaking where the plastic fittings thread in? How is it built different?

Thank you.

Great question, the only thing that would keep it from leaking at the plastic to metal connection is your ability to deeply seat your tapered pipe fitting, the use of a hard setting thread tape that won’t allow movement over time, threaded ports that are cut with a thread mill and NOT a tap followed by a check of the work with a Go/No-Go gauge so they stay within a very tight tolerance.

Then you eliminate every possible joint you can with selective plumbing. Bolt it down 8 times over and you’re set!

Hell I would’ve been ecstatic just to have a flat mounting surface. You know…like yours does lol

We’ve all seen what SH will do to aluminum. Other than thinking it’s pretty, why would you possibly make the manifold out of aluminum, a material with always rated “D” or “D-” compatibility with sodium hypochlorite?

@OutsideCleaner Thank you for bringing this up Nate! I am aware of the chemical compatibility, on that note, I chose 6061 Aluminum because of its durability and cost effectiveness. This is a budget manifold after all. There are other material choices such as Titanium and Hastelloy however these come with a unbelievably expensive cost for material and machining. Then you have your Poly’s although they are chemical resistant they are ill suited when it comes to a material that is strong and durable. As this is a budget blend manifold we believe that Aluminum is the best choice. With diligent rinsing/neutralizing practices you will get plenty of longevity for your money. Because we designed these ourselves we left a hefty amount of wall thickness throughout but let us not forget we’re dealing with SH here and at this budget price nothing is going to be bullet proof. Choose to focus on a system with fewer leak points, quality valves and a design with a secure way of mounting. Because that is exactly how you get the most bang for your buck. At $350 this is the nicest well thought out Blend Station!!!
