Cox or GP reel opinion

Thanks IBS. I just mentioned but remember someone saying they had to be careful rolling the hose up because it barely fit even though it was suppose to hold more. It was not a Hannah reel though.

How many feet of 3/8" hose does yours say it will hold? Do you think Hannay’s numbers are pretty accurate? If they say it will hold 250’ will it hold 250’?

I only bought 225’ of 3/8 for my 1520 and haven’t put the hose on yet. I’m sure someone here knows though. I bought the 1530 for supply hose and it fits 200ft 5/8 with room for at least another 75-100 if that helps ya.

Mine holds 250 easily, but I have no quick connects, just continuous hose. Before I started doing that it still held 250 easily if you rolled it tightly. My experience is a Hannay will last about 10 years before the manifold rust thru, then they become garden hose reels. Super swivels last about 5 years if you don’t grease them. Once I quit hitting the zerks with the grease gun they seemed to last longer, go figure.

I run 5/8" supply hose too but 150’ length and with my 1526’s you better roll it pretty or you’ll be two times around too short. It not hard to get it right though.

Are you using Moly grease? It’s what they recommended and not much at all. Are you rebuilding them?

I don’t do any thing to them. Use them 4 or 5 years then trash them when they leak tomuch and replace. I swear when i greased them they only lasted a couple of years.

Let me prepay some shipping labels for all those “bad” swivels you come across lol hahahaha

Does anyone know the total width of the 450 ft GP hose reel? From end of handle to end of swivel?

It says the width in the description but I feel like that doesn’t include the handle.

I’ve been stubborn about supply hose. I like my 50ft lengths of Goodyear. When one pops I can replace it. Instead of buying a giant new hose every time. Its definitely not the most efficient way to do thing but I like it…until the connections hang up on everything and anything over, and over, and over again lol

I believe mine was on a 500’ roll that I split between two trucks and a trailer. Each got 150’ of the 5/8’’ 200 psi rubber (Gates or Dayton) heater hose . This was many many many moons ago. I usually just need to lop off an inch or two on the lead. Heavy heavy trucks hit it once in awhile but it’s thick wall stuff.

Add 3.5"-4" then

What’s the model number you’re talking about?
