How many of you use coupons as part of your advertising campaign?

$ off or % off

When offering coupons I have always preferred $OFF over %'s. Not a big coupon person though when I do it is always with direct mail.

I read somewhere that people don’t want to think too hard and calculate a %, that $ they understand, its quick and easy for them to comprehend.

We do 10% off on door hangers. They don’t know the price till they call so 10% is incentive to call and find out what pricing is.

$ OFF seems to work better for me.
