I’m looking for a lined jacket to use in the cooler temps, what are you guys using that won’t spot like crazy.
I tend to run hot—even in freezing temps, I’ll be sweating in shorts and a tee! So, take this with a grain of salt: I prefer Gildan 50/50 cotton/poly in heathered grey. 100% cotton bleaches too easily, and 100% poly can get sticky and smelly after a few wears. The heathered grey is great for hiding any random splashes, too. I’ve got t-shirts, long sleeves, and crew neck sweatshirts, all affordable enough to toss when they’re past their prime without breaking the bank. This layering works for me, but I also have a nice heavy fleece and a raincoat from Carhartt that I typically wear for initial walkthroughs/meetings or driving to early jobs, but I take them off and leave in the truck before spraying anything so they don’t get ruined.
Right now I’m wearing two Carhartt safety yellow long sleeve shirts which is fine for 50-ish days but looking for a lined jacket to wear in the 40’s.
100% Polyester waffle-knit athletic long sleeve shirt as a base and a polyester pullover fleece from old navy that was cheap to buy and has held up fantastically against the bleach.
The base layer has the thumb hole loops to help keep the sleeves from riding up when I’m holding the gun up over my head.
Check out their rain defender series… they have thermal and quilted heavyweight sweatshirt/jackets that might be just right for you.
I’ve been using it for two years now. Works great in cold temps. Amazing. And worth every penny.
