Concrete pavers and asphalt

Hello,

I got a job at my local car dealership, and they have the brick concrete pavers. It looks like it has been previously sealed in the past. Is it ok to apply chem on it and then surface clean or should I just use water? Also, since it’s a high traffic area, the guy wants it done like one a month. Isn’t that like overkill? Dont you take off some of the surface everytime you pressure wash? I thought once every 4mos would be better. Lastly, he wants the oil stains in the asphalt gone as well. I only wash with cold water right now. What do you guys recommend to get the oil out of the asphalt?

Asphalt is oil, but I’ll wait to hear what the others say.

I wanna know what brick concrete is.

We need some pics to see what you’re dealing with.

This gives you an ideal of brick concrete pavers. They are already sealed, and I didnt know if I should put chemicals on it or not. Also, they want the pavers power washed regularly. Like once a month. I just thought that was a little excessive
The dealership has asphalt similar to the pic above and has oil stains from the service department, and they want it removed. I have never pressure washed oil stains out of asphalt.

If they want them washed once a month I would wash them once a month. They should be relatively clean each month so you probably won’t need a crazy amount of pressure. If there aren’t any stains on them you won’t need chemicals. SH for organic stains won’t hurt the sealer.

The problem with removing oil stains from asphalt is that asphalt is oil. So, using a degreaser on the oil stain can also start attacking the asphalt itself. You can try something mild like Dawn dish soap or I’ve seen mention of Red Raider but I don’t think the stains were ever removed. They’re better off just having asphalt sealer applied, I’m sure you’ve seen it. It’s like a thin layer of tar that’s applied to the whole area. They might be due for it anyways.
