Hey all! My company does commercial day porter work, parking lot sweeping, and we also have a big rig for trash bin cleaning. Since we run an 8gpm hot water machine with a 525 water tank, a lot of our commercial clients have started asking us to pressure wash trash enclosures, restaurant sidewalks, retail sidewalks, etc. We’ve only done commercial flatwork for the past year, and have never done the actual building structure washing.
We were asked recently to wash a MASSIVE warehouse, and I declined. But, I was just asked to wash another commercial building, and I’m wondering if I’m overthinking it and we might be fine with our equipment and general knowledge from all the flatwork jobs we’ve done.
My biggest question is how high can shooter tips go, or would we absolutely need a lift for this building? I’ve tried to learn, read, and watch tons of content to prepare for larger work like this.
My thought is we would downstream SH and work in sections. Just straight SH or do we need to add in a surfactant? I know to be careful with all the windows/not letting anything dry. We would also be doing the sidewalks.
Sure, I wish our first building wash was a smaller property, but we’ve built a ton of trust with our commercial clients, and I’d love to be able to handle this one, so we can start marketing to our current client base. I’d really appreciate some guidance on this one.
