Anyone tried installing the new manifold on existing P40 pump?
Or do you need the new pump too?
I guess there is a retro fit kit
Anyone install this on their gas system?
The old one keeps breaking (plastic breakage)
Just bought it.
Don’t care for them, make sure you keep plenty of spare parts on hand, they leak like all get out. Not made for our industry…look into a MoFlow it is amazing if you want more flow and way less issues. Much success on your repairs!
I will! Thanks for the recommendation.
So the moflo is more reliable? That means it’s worth the extra $
I know this wasn’t directed for me but I’ll chime in. I can only speak for the Comet.
Had it 4 seasons, pump and proportioner have worked great.
The only thing I’ve had issues with is the plastic breaking on some of the parts, which has led to downtime, aggravation and time researching online. I guess it’s designed for chem application in insect control and agriculture. But the plastic would still break in those applications too, I suppose. So, overall, it has been a moneymaker but if I had to replace it, I’d definitely consider some other options.
They run 6-7k, basically a pressure washer made for SH in larger volumes. Many guys have been running them for years with little to no problems. If you do a lot of commercial work it would benefit greatly and roof’s although you probably have to idle down because of too much volume on a roof, depending the size obviously. But worth the look for sure…
I’m not a fan of the old style p40 (we will have to see how the new one does) but for the price of 1 moflow you could buy 4-5 p40’s… only issue I’ve heard is people who don’t properly winterize and get cracked housing while in storage.
Well, I got the new manifold installed and primed.
After, multiple investigations, the only solution to install the new unloader was to cut my frame for the reel. I later reinforced the post with a metal strip.
But if anyone with the Stallion system and reel, you’ll have to do the same if you upgrade the manifold.
Now that it’s primed, I need to get pressure. But the thing is installed.
The Mo Flow is a GX390 belt driven paired with a saltwater pressure pump tuned between 1,000-2,000 PSI and 15GPM. The unit has an electronic clutch installed (GP sells them, they bolt onto the pulley wheel from the engine shaft). The clutch means there’s no need for a bypass because when you’re off the trigger the pump isn’t working.
The pumps are about $2,000 and your guess is as good as anybody’s for how long they’ll last upstreaming bleach through them. If they can pump saltwater then the idea is they can pump roof mix.
They sell the Mo Flow for around $7,000.
Wait tell you see the Lo-Flo
I didn’t look at the lo flow although I heard about it. I assumed it was just a smaller pump analogous to the difference between an AR45 and an AR30 (ie just size not a difference in kind).
Is it substantially different other than size? Or do you just mean the price is uppppp there too? ![]()
Not sure about the sizing… more so that the LoFlo is 8gpm 300psi, so more apples to apples to the p40/AR45 then the MoFlo is… but also still 3X the price.
yeah, that’s wild! I guess there’s enough people in the field with money burning a hole in their pocket! Not me though ![]()
The new manifold been working great. Used it on maybe 6 or 7 jobs and a huge condo complex.
