Colored or Stained Concrete

Hey guy’s whats the best way to tackle colored or stained concrete? I’m running a 5 gpm 3k psi machine. Do I even attempt to use my surface cleaner or just soft wash with a good degreaser and brush it? Your Thoughts?

Looks colored to me… You can use SH

I’d mix SH & EBC let it dwell some and rinse it off… Id wand it with a soft wash tip! That’s just me though

Be careful with SH and those metal poles…

If it’s colored, you can use your surface cleaner.

Was that an integral mix? A year ago We surface cleaned a colored concrete pool deck and thought it was integral but after 12 years of uv hitting it the color came right out. We used hot water too though so wonder if that was a factor?

yes, but it’s still faded when dry. This drive is over 15 years old. Was faded when we started and still faded same amount when dry.

I was just worried about using the surface cleaner

if it’s an integral part of the concrete, meaning the color was added when poured, then no problem

With concrete like that i normally pre treat with 3% and let it dwell usually 20 minutes and hit it with a surface cleaner i like a longer dwell time on my concrete, comes out really good. as Jet-Away said be careful with those metal poles, in the photos they look like there a gold plated or maybe even just paint, but just take extra precaution.

It’s brass I’m gonna have to cover them at the base

Pre taped plastic is all kinds of handy for stuff like that… just run the tape over the bar, unfold the plastic and wrap her up. Amazon.com

Cling film works very well aswell I have used it numerous times for this kind of stuff, sticks to absolutely anything once it’s rolled over itself once or twice and very easy to come off just slice it with a blade and trash it. I have also used it to protect stained doors while I’m downstreaming I just use a rubber squeegee to tuck it in between the seems. Takes me 3 minutes to cover a door but who cares at least i can carry on with the house wash and not have that feeling at the back of my mind if it will strip the stain or not.
