Colorado PW market

Spent the last 3 days in Colorado Springs. I’ve been to Durango, Eagle, Denver, Boulder, Ft. Collins, the list goes on a few times a year almost every year of life. I’m in love with the place.

The last few times I’ve spent checking out different markets to see what can reasonably be washed consistently. Didn’t notice a ton of vinyl. Nothing remarkable in CO Springs by way of competition.

I’ve been trying to call CO home for a long time and I think I’m ready to make it happen. Problem is I’ve got a good thing going here and not really sure how to move a PW company with no idea what to wash there.

I’m kinda stuck. Do I move there 6 months out of the year? Do I go for it and set up shop there permanently? Or do I try to run a business in two locations.

Any lurkers here washing consistently in the mountain regions? What’s the market like? In Boulder would be great since they don’t really welcome pit bulls or AR-15’s so I won’t be any competition.

Otherwise, I don’t care really where I move in CO so I’ll try to stay out of your market if you can help. Lol

I was stationed in Colorado Springs for 2 years. I loved it the people were great and it was beautiful. But I think the EPA is Pretty Tough out there

Brings up another consideration I haven’t made.

Also there’s very little mildew since there’s no humidity. We talked about it. My wife and sister-in-law spent their childhood in Glenwood Springs. But since the influx of people moving from California in the 90’s Colorado changed and not for the better. Ask any one who remembers it before that time period

I saw moss and algae on some of the rocks at garden of the gods yesterday and thought it was a positive sign. Drove around for a couple hours and saw ZERO algae on houses. Lol

Also disappointing… rented a 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport or something… my 2006 tundra rides and handles better. I was heartbroken.

Just curious what the draw is? Beautiful environment and clean air maybe? I met a couple that had moved from Boulder to Portland a few years back. They were preparing to move back to Boulder. According to them the job market was a lot better there. I would love to visit some time. I haven’t had the opportunity yet.

The mountains. Wild life. Had two huge bucks at a creek behind the bungalow I stayed at while I had coffee yesterday morning.

Clean air definitely. Being 5 minutes from hiking with my dogs literally anywhere I’ve been in CO. There’s never ending amounts of hunting, fishing, and stuff to do outside.

Oh and fat squirrels. CO has some of the fattest squirrels I’ve ever seen and they’re hysterical.

If you love people telling you how to live and what you can and can’t say and what dogs you can and can’t have yeah… Boulder is great.

I lived in Longmont as a kid, then CS in 90-91. You’re right, my Mom lamented all the people from CA bringing their far left ideals with them. Boulder is ground zero for that.

You may want to consider living expenses, I suspect the Springs is cheaper than north Denver area.

You probably won’t do much algae/mold cleaning in such a dry climate, more likely dirt removal. I remember massive dust storms blowing fine dirt into our windows with all that high wind out there.

Funny, nobody ever talks about Pueblo. Decent sized city, seems to be the armpit of CO. I remember it being akin to the ‘south side if the tracks’ when i was young, but might be a market there.

Maybe why I’ve subconsciously avoided Pueblo. Never been. You could name 5 other cities and I’ve probably been… never to Pueblo though. Stayed in a yurt in 2016 in southwestern CO in the middle of nowhere. But never Pueblo.

Funny you mentioned windows… I thought I’d probably have to add it back in to the lineup to make things work out there.

Just don’t plan to do windows in Denver. Place is saturated with cleaners. Probably the most sparkling city in the nation.:smirk:
