Cleaning Dyed/Colored Concrete

Got a request to clean a red concrete sidewalk. Customer says a powdered dye was used when is was poured. They have seen red come off on clothes when they sit on the front step.

It definitely needs cleaning but you can see where is is starting to lighten in areas. Trying to avoid making it any lighter.

What would be the safest way to clean this one without taking more of the red out? 50/50 SH mix in a pump up with a light rinse?

We run 25025 tips in our surface cleaners to back the pressure down a little. Would the surface cleaner have more of a chance of removing the color vs SH and light rinse? Thanks!

Honestly I’m not a vet, but unless they are willing to accept that it’s going to fade I’d walk. I think 50/50 is a little strong. If I were you I’d offer to clean it then do some type of paint. I always try to inform the customer and keep the ball in their court on things like this. Also if you go through with it make sure you write up some type of cya and have them sign. Making sure they know all the worst case scenario.

I would document the fading already and talk to the homeowner about it. I pretreat with house wash mix and run surface cleaner on my bypass if I don’t want as much pressure on it. That surface I would run my normal surface cleaner pressure.
