Cleaning Charter/ Private Boats

Trying to kill two birds one stone as they say.
Anybody clean a lot of fiberglass? I would like to wash for the marinas while also pounding the docks for sea time. It’s also great advertising being in the heart of all the fishing towns. Some marinas do their own and some dont. I was thinking Housewash mix hot water, gentle brushing? If im missing something somebody let me know.

I clean a lot of fiberglass decks. My Dad restored a boat left uncovered in the woods for 6 years with bleach and comet. He also scrubbed it and washed it at least a dozen times to get it back to white.

Interesting I’ve never come across fiberglass decking or maybe I did and didn’t know it. These should be pretty well maintained. The hull will need to be cleaned when they pull them out or slip them, the decks etc should be pretty well maintained by deckhands and they’re all 30’ or smaller inshore, beach cruisers.

My great uncle Rob kitted out a helicopter and is planning to fly to Hawaii from IN before he isn’t able. It’s accelerated my drive to get my captain & pilot license before I die.

I pump spray my Dad’s hull the hit it with a high pressure tip. His is on his trailer when I clean it. Its a pain in the neck working around his trailer.

I was thinking something similar ,star brite hull cleaner. These captains swear by it. I know peope use Low % sh and oxalic with no problem.

JUST GET CLEANO. Its environmental safe you can use it around the water

He ain’t gonna fly a helicopter from IN to Hawaii…they ain’t go gas stations along the way. The longest over water route in the world is the stretch between the U.S. mainland and Hawaii .

Maybe @mgcmike can fly ahead of him in a refueler plane. Although, I guess his dad would have to fly an Apache or maybe a Chinook.

Pretty sure we’d be hearing about that one on the news and he’d be visiting the forum from the hoosegow.

He wanted to fly to the keys this year but is not even able to make the fishing trip to MN. It’s a small (AIRPLANE), with a modified fuel tank in the cargo area that he’s kitted out. I was watching the Destin helicopters the day I typed this, so… brain fart.

So

  1. I’ve never been to Hawaii. Nor do I know distances fuel stuff etc. I googled all of this. So yes only one plane or two planes are capable of that journey.

  2. Ron was a sgt in the army and a smart $$$ in a funny way.

3.His “final flight” which he said he was taking this year would be to Hawaii from KOKOMO IN. He then turned to my dad and said you’ve been wanting to take your last fishing trip for a while now right? Wanna join?

They were just trying to ruffle my mom and great aunts feathers I just heard flying to Hawaii from IN lol

I’ll upload pics of us and the plane when I can log back in lol

That’s awesome that he still has dreams and trying to make it happen. That’s the kind of stuff that keeps a man alive.

I don’t anything at all about flying, or fuel, or distances. I was just imagining you breaking into a Marine Corps air base and snagging a refueling plane all in the name of your dad accomplishing his flight! Let me know if you need a lookout…lol
