I have a customer with a large playground. She wants it cleaned/prepped for sealing. It appears to just be pressure treated wood that has probably been sealed at one point in the past. She just wants it cleaned up so her guy can come in and seal it. Suggestions? I’ve heard answers from it’ll be a pain in the ass, to it’ll be a cake walk. Also, someone mentioned just spraying wood brightener on it.

John, I think it depends on what was on it before and how old it is. If it was just a sealant a good cleaning should be fine. If it was painted or had a solid stain it will have to be stripped (pain in the you know what). Just take it easy on the pressure when you clean it. Usually the brightener comes after stripping.
