Clay stains

How would you clean Ga clay stains off of concrete and the brick on a home?

Acid. But it’s easier to walk away

Man there is nothing else that works??

Murratic acid?

Yes. Or aluminum brightener or similar.

I just did it yesterday using Muriatic Acid - mixed it 1 cup acid to 5 cups water. Spray on let sit for 3-4 minutes spray off with light to medium pressure. We have to be careful around here as the foundations have a thin top coat of concrete on the actual foundation and too much pressure it starts flying off.

Can’t speak for actual pressure washing, but GA clay is made of iron…that is why products like “iron out” work to make baseball pants white again.

Have no idea what the composition of our clay is, but our soil is high clay content. Almost every home’s foundation will have red “stains” on it. 1:5 acid always does the trick. And they cover all foundations with a 1/8 inch thick layer of Mason’s Mix like a top coating that is simply junk. You kick the wall and it falls off. But I offer patching and resurfacing as an add-on so mo money, mo money, mo money

@CaCO3Girl what kind of surfactant is best for acid? Just curious the chemist view.

The AO-12 (aka ammonyx LO/Barlow 12/lauramine oxide) is stable in muriatic. It’s a big part of what makes up Elemonator so if you have any of that I’d be interested to know if it’s entirely compatible:-)

What’s that?

A typo. It’s suppose to say Barlox 12.

Just another name for it.
