Church Building Cleaning. Help, Please!

No I do not have my 12 volt put together yet, but I have a x-jet coming in the mail today will that help,? Also I’m checking prices on a lift I realize I will probably have to use it,at least for steeple

Yes!

So long as you have the reach - might take two goes, but squid from off here has successfully done roofs with an x-jet in the past.

If you can hit the highest bits, no need for a platform I don’t think - oh, the steeple yes…

X-jet what you can from the ground. It might be a pain refilling and moving around with the X-jet on a platform.

Leave the steeple until last and backpack it

I dont care what you use, xjet, 12v, downstream, vodka…ect.

If you want to effectively clean that you need to get up close and personal.

The only thing soaking it with detergent is going to do is maybe lighten the stains about 10% at best.

If you want to humor yourself, go do a quick test spot on one of the lower areas.

That will clarify what Im talking about.

Good luck.

Yes I had planned on going and test the spot this evening, thank you very much for your help I was just curious,

I haven’t took the time to thank everybody on this forum, you have all helped me out a lot whether you know it or not I’ve done tons of reading, and since I started I’m getting lots of jobs and everything is turning out great, thanks for the search bar!

I looked at it to trying to figure out what caused it, but it just looks like where the rain has hit the concrete and made it run down the brick, over 100 yr old they don’t know if it’s ever been washed, also would 25 sq ft cover me,plus cost of lift?thanks

You mean $.25 per sq ft or what? I typically price that kind of work by the job.

Yes,I guess when I get my test spot done,I will no,as to how long it’s going to take

Detergent? Won’t lighten it any percent.

It’s mould, strong SH mix, let it dwell - it will remove it.

When you do your test spot, if you have a back pack, or a small hand pump pack - use that to get your mix ratio rather than your machine or x-jet. No set up, in and out.

When we say “detergent” that means housewash mix, aka SH and surfactant.

And no, even a stronger mix will not remove all those stains. Its limestone and brick, not vinyl or drivit.

Application of a stronger mix will lighten it but not remove it all.

So you are saying up close pressure?

“We”?

Nobody calls housewash detergent @KMP

Go do your test spot @Jdemp it will work.

Lol,thanks

Yes go do your test spot with a back pack sprayer filled with a strong sodium hypochlorite mix like @anon26752184 recommend.

Great idea!!

Im out of this thread.

Good luck.

Keep that SH off your back! I’ve heard to many stories of people getting chemical burns. I think @Patriotspwashing can attest to that if I’m not mistaken. I also refer to my HW mix as detergent to customers… I like your confidence though! lol

Hey Max

I’ve had a leaky backpack in the past. Not much fun.

Maybe I was harsh with the detergent thing? Detergent is soap to me. For cars, washing dishes etc.

If I said to hit something with detergent, I’d do just that, no SH.

Backpack or pump pack to do the test spot is what I said, not the whole lot.
