Choosing a trailer

Carry-On Trailer Pipe Top Trailers | Northern Tool

I can also get a 5X10 locally for 1800.00 single axle or a double axle for 2800.00 without the pipe top or a 6 X 10 for 2000.00 I have an F150 4.2L 6cyl
I currently have a homeowner 5x8 carry on. :sunglasses:

You don’t want pipe top. Makes adding a ladder rack or welding reel stands much harder. Go with angle iron top rails.

Make sure it has a 3500# axle and has the square flange to add trailer brakes if not already equipped.

What is the weight rating? Rating - weight of trailer = what you can load on it maximum.

What are the tires? Chinese?

C channel size, cross member spacing 16’s or 24’s?

Decking boards or 2x’s?

Led lights or bulbs?

That is some of the info I would want before parting with my money. Be advised (if you don’t already know) iron went way up this year (at least in my region). If I stripped off all my PW stuff from my trailer right now I could sell it for about what I bought it for, maybe more if I haggle.

Got that right on the steel. Exact same trailer I’d specced out right before covid was $2400, now same manufacturer, exact same specs $3800.

Going to postpone the trailer I was able to get the 8GPM into the truck. Thinking about getting a welder so I can get the reels up and put the other machine in there as a backup or a bigger soft wash tank.

What is your new setup going to be like? I remember you having issues with the gearbox in the 5gpm Udor on a GX390. Did you decide to go all out & replace everything with an upgrade?

The 5GPM has been running great. I replaced the fuel filter on the 390 & the pump is working great. But I ended up breaking the bank anyway and getting the 8GPM Pressure Pro.

Good for you! Engines love a good fuel supply or they get grumpy. Glad it worked out. Based on my mathemetism, you’ll be spraying an hour’s worth or water every 37.5 minutes with the new rig compared to what you are used to… and you have a solid back up. What engine is on that new rig? Belt or gear drive?

Thanks :+1:It’s belt drive. The bucket test is giving me almost 9 gallons, but still trying to dial in the pressure. :sunglasses:

Fantabulous! What engine are you running with it?

It’s the pressure pro skid w/GX690. I need to get familiar with the maintenance on it. I think I got the last one in Florida. They’re all backordered.
