Chevy Avalanche Build

Just some pictures of my Avalanche short bed build. Equipment I’m using is:
3500 psi 5.5 gpm Honda 630
100 gal Water Dragon vertical tank
2 Steel Eagle reels
I’m mounting the PW on top with the hose reels. Bottom will contain fuel tank and accessories. I will be using truck bed liner on the plywood to seal it. The 4x4s are treated and too wet to seal. I’ll be plumbing from the bottom up, running the supply hose on the floor of the bed up to the PW. The unloader hose will go back into the tank. The tank will be secured to the bed with metal straps. Water supply will go through a Hudson float. These are dry fit pictures, nothing bolted down yet. I will be removing the PW from the wheel base. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated. This is my first build and I think it’s a good layout.

Will you be able to reach those hose reels to wind them back up? I’m 5’3” so that’s a no for me lol

I’m 6’6”. I’m good!:grinning:

Looking good. Too bad you don’t have room to mount those reels pointing the same way. A time saver for me is being able to unspool my pressure and supply hoses at the same time.

It would be nice to have the reels facing the same way, but for crankability, there was not enough room.

Drill new holes, even if there in the middle of
The reel…maybe block that reel up an inch so the tailgate can still close.

Good idea. Thanks @Patriotspwashing.

But another 4x4 in the middle. The plywood will start to dip after awhile, especially to help transfer the weight of the led that have nothing under them.

Another good idea. I will run some supports under the top deck. It’s been pretty cold here in MI the last few days so I haven’t been able to work on it.
