Chemical Injectors

If I just upgraded from a 5gpm to a 5.5 can I still use the same chem injector? Or do I need to buy a new one? Reason for asking is because online there listed as 3-5gpm or 5-8gpm and I fall in between…

Most downsize their injector because it draws more soap. I used a 1.8 or, the 2-3 gpm high draw, when I was running a 5.5 gpm machine. I’m using the 2.1 or 3-5 gpm injector for my 8 gpm machine. To answer your question, no, you won’t need to change injectors. There won’t be any difference. If you want a higher draw rate you can drop down to the 2-3 gpm injector.

Thought so! Thanks

Why would anyone want anything other than the 2-3 gpm ones if that’s the case

Because not everyone uses a 5.5 gpm machine

I wouldn’t expect any other answer from IBS…lol

If you tried using a 2-3 gpm with an 8 gpm it probably wouldn’t draw anything at all or at least very little. I think you can pretty much only drop down about one size.

I’ve used a 2-3 with an 8 gpm. It pulled soap but it severely restricted my flow.

Did you get a high draw rate than a 3-5 gpm injector? Some restriction would be fine if it pulled a significant amount more. Would come in handy for colder days when you need a little more oomph.

I couldn’t tell if it was pulling more. My soap bucket was going down about the same amount. I’ve since bought a new injector 2.1 high draw from Pressuretek and this one definitely pulls less soap than the last 2.1 I got from them. Same machine and same setup but my soap bucket lasts longer and it’s not cleaning walls as quick.

It probably didn’t pull any more than a 3-5 injector, but it did likely put out a bit stronger mix due to restricting the flow so much.

I just wonder if you can hook up a pump up sprayer and lightly pressurize the SH line so it doesn’t have to pull as hard. Kinda like a mild turbocharger on a car.

I may try it soon, I think my sprayer hose is 1/4”.
