Cheap Roof Pumps/Washing Systems?

What are some cheap roof cleaning systems out there? I’ve seen some kits on some of the suppliers’ sites for like $500 but just wondering what y’all recommend.

Also, besides the pump/chem tank, what else is absolutely necessary when getting into roof cleaning? A ladder stability bar? Ladder clip? etc

Thanks!

Bob has them from $350.00 to $600.00.

Add the “pump in a box” option.

Why the need for cheap?

We use the fatboy with the kuritech hose.

Get a battery. A ladder with a stabilizer.

Don’t kill any plants and don’t fall off the roof.

You’re all set.

Is Bob’s 5800 much worse than a fatboy? Which is better, the 1/2" or 5/8"?

thanks

Buy the 1/2 kuritech hose. You can use it later too. Buy the 5850 pump. You can upgrade to fatboy later and use 5800 as back up or transfer pump.

Start with little pump but good hose. Skip the 5/8" business all together.

My first setup was:
55 gallon garbage can
$200 110 volt pump
Wand and nozzles from pressuretek $50.00
3 50 foot 5/8" garden hoses rubber Goodyear hoses

Cheap cheap cheap and worked great

I second Tim. I’ve used other hose trying to pinch pennies when I first started roofs. First job, the hose ruptured pouring SH all over the yard. I packed up everything. Diluted the yard with garden hoses for 1 hour straight. I went home and ordered the 1/2 yellow kuri online right away and went back to the job with it. 100% confidence and performance with that kuri!

Are the hoses offered in Bob at PT’s packages much worse than the Kuri?

I like the Ben Orr’s set up but for the price Bob’s package is complete and pretty much unbeatable from what I’ve found so far.

Ben,

I’m wondering how you made the garbage can function as a chem tank?

Get the Bob kuritech hos.

[QUOTE=tigerwash;25640]Ben,

Easy you pour in chemo that you need for the job, drop in the suction hose from the pump and go to town… I mounted my pump on a piece of wood that straddled the top of the 55 gallon can, when the job was done I simply pored the remainder into storage cans, and rinsed it all out… When I first started doing roofs I did 3 my first year… It’s not that popular of a thing up by me and it requires quite a bit of selling… Most people around here have no idea… So I couldn’t justify spending a lot of money on something that I barely used… Now i do more roofs per year but still not enough to dedicate a whole trailer or truck to it so I have my setup - 55 gallon chem tank, 110 volt pump and Hannah hose reel with 3/4" - 5/8" rubber garden hose on it, mounted on moving dollies. When I need it we push it into our box truck, when we are done we clean it out and push it back into the shop…

While I have never had an issue with my Goodyear rubber hoses, I am aware that they are not exactly designed for the corrosiveness of roof cleaning… I will be replacing my hoses this year with the kuritec hoses…

Do you have any pics?

What do you need a picture of a garbage can for?
