Changing Pump to Increase GPM

Is there a way I could increase flow on my machine by changing its pump?

I have a Honda GX200 with 3000 PSI and 2.8 GPM flow. Great machine for when I soft wash house sidings, however it takes a considerably long time to clean driveways/sidewalks.

Thanks!

You can increase flow by changing the unit all together. Gx200 is pretty small to do any real cleaning with

@Gmart @DJPWS is right, you can build a 420cc predator and 2500/5.5 for about 800, give or take. You’ll want more pressure, but for the time being you will see a big improvement. Its worked for me, but Im all about good equipment to raise my dollar per hr so Im in the middle of building a bigger machine.

Oh, and don’t “save” money by buying/building a direct drive like I did if you can help it.

Just to clarify a larger engine is needed for a larger pump. You just can’t slap a bigger pump on your 200. If you get a larger machine and it’ll pay for itself in a few days by the additional jobs you’ll be able to do because of the time saved.

I’m not a huge fan of the 2500/5.5 I find it struggles a bit on flatwork. If I could do it over again I’d go with a 5 gpm pump to get a little more psi, I may be spoiled though as I run an 8 most of the time

I agree, you need a very good pretreat and its slow going, though I’ve never worked with 3k psi so Im not sure of the difference. I’m building a machine with 3k psi, so looking forward to that. I want 3500, but I would prefer to have the gpm.

My 8/3k does just fine with flatwork
