Should I protect the cedar soffits (should be cedar soffits, but looks a little bit dark to me) when treating the roof?
How would you protect them please?

Easily doable. You would obviously pre wet but more importantly control your mist and take your time around those 2 joining sections.

The siding looks like cedar too.
Pre wet I mean soak them. Add a little soap or surfactant to help the water stick. Apply whatever cleaner you will be using with a pump up sprayer. Take your time dont rush. Do one section at a time and rinse it like you have nothing better to do that day
