Cedar siding wash?

This says he wants the cedar siding softwashed, I’ve never done cedar siding before, also the soffits are stained, so I won’t be able to hit those with chem either. I would usually pass on these kinds of jobs but work is really slow, how should I go about this?

I know it’s slow. It’s slow for me too but sometime you just have to. The fact that you would usually pass should tell you.

I use sodium percarbonate, it’s gentle on the wood and depending on how bad the organic matter will depend on how the mix is, maybe start 6-8 ounces powder a gallon of water and a little elemonator. Make it right before you plan to start the job, no shelf life really. I have hot water setup so I mix with warm water and go from there. I use warm water on the wood too, 100-110 degrees. About 600-800 psi with 40 degree tip is what works for me. I’m sure others do it different too. Much success if you do it.

Proceed with that job and it will probably be the last job you do…

Walk…Away.

There is a safe way to wash that house. I don’t know how but someone does. Unless your 100% that you’re not going to botch the wash or mess up anything I would walk away.

A little tip, never experiment on a customers house. Especially fancy ones. Save the experimenting on your personal house.

Thanks I did end up walking

Man some of you guys over complicate things. You could just have washed it with water and soap. If you wanted you could have added a splash of bleach (doesnt even need to be 12%) just to make it smell clean and you would have went home with some loot in your pocket… unless the client want you to deep clean the wood, but then thats a whole different service all together. I do lots of brand new houses in this area and they can be the easiest money when all they want is a house wash
