"Cedar shingle" Vinyl siding

Tried housewash, then treated multiple times up to around 4% and still not clean? Tips?

What are you trying to remove?

SH has always worked (usually just at HW strength) for me when cleaning that stuff of mildew and cobwebs.

Perhaps you have a case of fallout?

No fallout

not being smart, just working through some stuff. Did you try a little pressure? Some agitation then pressure? What about a degreaser or a weak acid?

Most of the time I have stuff that won’t clean I start looking around and see a chimney or a firepit nearby, then I know what the issue is. Or they live along the road and I know the brush is coming out around the eaves. We have coal trucks, logging trucks, and plow trucks that throw the crap on the houses.

What is that white stuff on the sides? Is that dried soap?

The picture was taken while rinsing soap off. I’ll add a picture of it dry. Not near a road. Neighbor has exact same siding with exact same stains. It’s definitely organic. Unless It’s purposely made to look like mildewed wood?

Oh man! Please be careful with that stuff, it has a built in color that looks dirty but can get faded out if you wash it. Ask me how I know.

And it’s not organic, it’s dirty air fallout that normally comes off with a degreaser but you’ll strip the color.

This is where I let the customer know it’s in their and my best interest to not go further to protect the siding

Do you know if that is nailite siding? William Page saved my butt on that stuff a few years ago.Find out if it is, and if it is just walk away from that. Oh, thanks again @Innocentbystander for that tip.

I looked up “nailite” and found pictures very similar. Basically plastic made to look like cedar shingles with black “mildew stains” colored in. So out of the box it looks like it needs to be washed.
Something like this:

Stuff was driving me crazy, thanks again.

I got tricked. Reminds me years ago when i was busy rinsing flowers near the house before washing and the homeowner came over to let me know these ones were plastic flowers. They had put plastic flowers in the ground. They were realistic. Lol
