We are all human. At least that’s what I tell my wife!
No offense to John, but don’t listen to everything he says. They’re are a lot of guys on YouTube who are still just learning and putting out some bad advice. I can’t imagine how many people have followed that bad advice and got screwed.
He’s probably a super nice guy, but he doesn’t needed to be giving advice lol
Honestly I think pretty much everyone that gives advice gives some bad advice. I read and watch a lot of different guys and most have something to offer. A business owner needs to be able to separate the wheat from the chaff no matter the source imo.
Agreed. I was referring to the guys in their first year of business or so who make videos giving advice while they’re still not necessarily experienced themselves. Seems like some of these guys make a video at every job they get.
I just thought it was funny because I had just come across this thread, then one of his videos popped up on youtube and I recognized the name. He seems to be doing well but then a video popped up about him being sued? some of his advice seemed to be inline with what I’ve read around here.
I’ve seen him pop up on YouTube.
He always reminds me of Andy (Chris Pratt) from Parks and Recreation.
And someone else on here may or may not remind me of Ron Swanson.
what are the best youtube channels to watch? It’s hard to sift the bs since everyone knows more than I do.
Brodie and Racer of course! Along with Cajun Softwash and Micheal?
I’ve been watching a guy called the window cleanse. Its good stuff but I don’t have a hot water washer and don’t plan on getting one soon so There’s only so much I can take away right now
LOL. @Jordie
The dude who I’m about to buy a window washing kit from?! Nice
Yep that’s me.
All the videos on this channel with Michael Kreisler are very good. The ones Jason makes are okay but he seems to be doing it to lean you towards his website to buy stuff…
Pressure Washer TV is a great channel. Richard will teach you a lot of useful information. I wish he still uploaded videos.
@Racer Rick has uploaded a handful of videos. He will teach you how to properly wash a residential driveway and give you some very good and trustful advice.
@squidskc Brodie is a great guy. He uploades videos every so often and gives great advice.
@gbattle uploads great videos quite often. He seems to have great knowledge of different types of concrete and how to clean it. He seems to be the go to guy around here for those types of questions.
Rob Anderson uploads great videos all the time. He gives really good advice on how to run your business, handle certain situations, and provide great customer service.
I’m very thankful for people like this, and these people specifically. Constantly giving out great information without asking for anything in return. There are some great people out there. Hope this helps
I didn’t know @gbattle had a channel! That’s freaking exciting.
Thanks for the kind words @anon37135677!
You can take this to the bank: I’ll never charge to help anyone out if it raises the bar and we can shed some of the bad ones from this industry. I’ll make my money pressure washing.
My pleasure. Well said and thank you for all the helpful info. “Never stop marketing” has really stuck in my head lately. I try to market somehow everyday whether it’s door hangers, fb adds, or 5 arounds and a yard sign after every job. It has really helped me a lot.
95% of the time helping other contractors bites you in the butt. It’s cost me a small fortune over the years. The less others know, the better off you are for the most part.
That’s really unfortunate. I get what you are saying though. A lot of people out there don’t understand the benefit of working together instead of competing. Like it or not, you have helped me a lot as well lol…I appreciate it.
Oh my this was an oldie but goodie thread never knew John Lange was such a character and he started here.
Geez it got petty
