Someone reached out to me asking if i can remove paint from driveway. Says prevuous owners look like they kept painting a coral paint on it and he wants it off. He said its a standard 2 car driveway. I told him to send me a picture and i can give him a quote. Still waiting on pic. Will post in thread when he sends.
There’s quite a few threads on here about paint removal from concrete. Check them out then if you have specific questions about chemicals or processes then start a thread. You’ll never learn if you’re just given the answer every time you have a question.
Ok…ive been searching and have found stuff. Of course there is differing advice. Ill keep reading up.
Here is a pic the guy sent me. From what i have read so far it seems like the move is to pass on the project.
It looks like the concrete is spalling/scaling on the bottom right side of that picture. If it is, then that is why it was probably painted in the first place. I would read about cleaning paint from concrete and then I would read about spalling/scaling concrete. After that I would make a decision and price accordingly. In big markets you can get by with passing on jobs, in my market I tackle things that others on this thread would walk away from. There are jobs that I even walk away from. I don’t do this for a living, it is just a side hustle for me.
Wow. That looks like a pain.
Multiple coats of that coral? Tell him it’d be much cheaper to have the driveway prepped and then recoated with a color he likes. They make colors that look like new concrete. I wouldn’t make any promises on the durability of the stain.
Here’s a driveway I did that had a coating on the driveway already. And they wanted to go back over it. The first coating was done 7 years prior. And the driveway was in horrible condition. And it preserved the driveway so that it wasn’t any worse than when the first coat went on. Impressive product.

You’re a pressure washer, not a concrete repair/restoration expert. Skip and move on.
Easier to paint it a different color.
That’s quite a difference @qons ! What is this fancy product you are using?
It’s by Andek. It’s called Wearcoat 66. It’s a two-part urethane. You can get it in gloss or matte.
Amazing stuff. Very expensive though. But worth the money.
Run, don’t walk away. That drive in terrible shape and you’re probably going to make worse getting all that paint off. Lot easier money to be made than doing that, including working at McDonalds.
