Can anybody recommend someone they used on upwork?

I attempted my own website last year and have come to realize i am no good at web design. i have also come to realize i need help with google SEO. has anybody hired somebody on upwork that they can recommend for website design and SEO? or can anybody recommend somebody they know or have worked with? Thanks!

If you need help and are willing to spend the money, then https://mereagency.com/ is the way to go.

Thanks, i checked their site and while it looks like they do good work, it looks to be a bit out of my price range. Im not at that level yet. I was just hoping to have somebody go through what i already have and tweak it for a few hours and a few hundred bucks.

Just a heads up to everybody looking to go the route im going- I reached out to somebody on upwork, who i thought was located in Texas, as per their bio. They asked me for my current website url so they can take a look. I get a visitor to my website from Pakistan not 5 seconds after i send them my url. I ask them about it and they say “I have a programmer who works on Wix who is in Pakistan. I work on wordpress.” Immediately im thinking scam, and its a bad idea to dabble in this upwork website unless i got a specific recommendation for a specific person first. Im currently asking friends and family to see if anybody knows somebody i can trust.

If it’s slow in your neck of the woods, learn wordpress. There are some great templates/themes. Theres a reason why more than 1/3 of all internet sites use it.

Heck, if some folks can learn to use bing, you can learn word press  lol

You’d be in the $1,500-3,500 range is my guess.
Keep in mind you want someone who will be there a year from now and can help you out if the website has issues. Whoever it is will definitely have login rights.

I’ve used upwork before and think you get much better work than Fiverr. Most agencies that do web design are still hiring this out globally though unfortunately. Everything is so plug and play with coding anymore very few hard code I think.

Whoever you choose if you plan on doing the work in the back end of Wordpress I’d look into a builder. I like Elementor pro but I’ve heard divi and beaver builder are fine too. If it’s set up on one of those then it’s much easier for yourself to go in and edit photos and make any changes you want. Hope that helps

Thanks for the input gentlemen. I think ill give wordpress a go using your suggestions.

Once you get into Wordpress you will see there are a number of different ways to build with certain plugins. Vanilla Wordpress may suit you but you may be interested in using Elementor or Divi Builder. YouTube will have videos over the pros and cons of each. A lifetime license of Divi would be money well spent and they have impressive how-to’s and educational info in their support documentation.

A friend of mine is a webmaster at a school district and it’s the platform he uses for his personal projects and freelance work.

I’m in the middle of my Divi build and am running it on Dream Host, it’s been a positive experience I recommend them.

Themeforest offers professional paid for themes that in most cases have demo content that can be changed easily to suite your needs. I currently run off a free template and I have had good success with it so far. I use dreamhost and they are easy to use and cheap.

I don’t know if you found what you were looking for or not, but Babble Agency does our SEO. They’re very affordable and keep us on Page 1 for the main keywords.

The marketing side of the business is a full job, best to let an expert handle it or an agency. We like the agency handling things, because they do it full time and have loads more experience than any single individual has. They keep up with the fast paced world of tech, something we don’t have time to do.

Anyway, hope this helps. You can reach out to us on this thread or if you want to see the work they’ve done for us check out Lakeland Pressure Washing.

Looks like you joined 28 minutes ago with 12 minutes of read time. We all gotta start somewhere, but you didn’t intend to revive a 10 month old thread with the sole intentions of plugging any specific companies or anything did you? Just curious.

Yeah, I’m glad I found this forum. I didn’t know one existed. The thread may be old, but it was one that showed up that I thought I could add some useful advice to. I’ve seen a lot of people start a business and get all excited but then not have anyone find them.

When we were first getting started in pressure washing we placed more emphasis on service, believing that word of mouth would be our best friend. But, when we hired an agency to help out with the SEO business started coming in left and right.

If I can save someone (hopefully a lot of people) from making the same newbie mistake we made, I’m happy to share.

Also, it’s nice to connect with others. Where are you out of?

I agree, it’s great to connect with others. What kind of equipment are you running? What’s your favorite engine? And what kind of oil do you prefer to run with it?

I’m out of Idaho. We’ve got the biggest potatoes. Have you heard about us??

I know, right?? haha, I did so much pressure washing before ever looking into it & then finally, I had to look up what kind of oil to put in my 17hp Tecumseh & boom here it is. Just all this useful information I was missing out on all along. Are you running 40w 70 in yours too? That’s how I roll. I hear it’s good for minimizing the particulates in my carburation mechanism.
