Man, you’re listening to the wrong people. I’m running 2 years now on 2 machines I bought off FB Marketplace. One was seized up. Figured I’d just rebuild it when it goes, since I like fooling with engines. Put new 8 gpm pumps on both because I wanted to. Old Honda GX670’s haven’t died yet, and I’ve ran the heck out of them. It can be done on a budget, but it ain’t easy. But it can definitely be done. Only thing you MUST have is insurance, business license, and a drive to succeed.
Yeah ,Joseph is on here on envirospec. Good fella, Dan Galvin is the new owner and an Old truck washer, so you know he’s gotta be super smart and handsome.
You were saying?
I need to just get rid of this picture but it cracks me up every time I look at it…lol…it’s awesome.
You’ve just proven my point. Thank you @marinegrunt .
If you have an opportunity to not get an AR pump you are ahead of the game
Are you teaching us on your vacation in Iceland? @Innocentbystander
Man I’ve been on vacation to the mountains for our 25 anniversary and already back in a motel out of town working. Wife took the kids to Canada earlier this year. I couldn’t bring myself to get on a plane for Iceland and they didn’t want to go without me.
Well happy anniversary sir. I saw the pics from Canada. Monster truck bus was awesome ! Maybe next time you’re wife can get Bill Cosby to make you a cold drink the day before your airplane ride to Iceland next time. @Innocentbystander
American Eagle flight 3379. That fire call has kept me on the ground. We all have issues and weaknesses.
So key take aways from this thread:
- AR pumps are not all that.
- People are full of crap and I can start up with a cold water machine.
- You guys are pretty awesome and very helpful. I think this PW world is somewhere I’ll fit right in.
Pretty much sums it up man.
Cold washing is the staple for residential work, hot skids are very, very helpful in commercial work, hot skids are essential in the machinery and oil field industries.
Gpm is better than psi. Don’t need psi to wash a house, but gpm and psi are necessary for commercial, machinery, oil field work, flat work. Welcome to the nut house and good luck bubby
…@ozzymg
Here’s all I know. Buy the best equiptment for your goals. If it’s washing houses and concrete get a nice cold water 8gpm skid. If you’re planning on washing dumpster pads or trucks or anything with oils or grease, or you don’t like your hands getting cold when it gets below 50 degrees buy a hot water skid. Don’t skimp on the equiptment. You will regret it in the long run.
Also, while I would never advise someone to overextend themselves on credit, or to buy something they don’t need…
“Don’t ever confuse saving money with making money.”
That’s a very wise statement. My only rebuttal is that I can’t convince the wife to allow me to spend anything excessive during start up. We have agreed that I can probably get away with a cheaper 4gpm machine for a while until I make enough to upgrade to a 8gpm skid and eventually add a heater or separate heated machine to the arsenal.
I think @SchertzServicesLLC said it best. Just do it and ask for forgiveness from your wife after the dust settles. Something like that.
I wish it were that easy, but she’s really attractive and I’m kinda… well… not, so I better not let this one slip away.
I understand. My wife is gorgeous, funny, cooks better than restaurants AND doesn’t spend any money. I do my best to never piss her off
EXACTLY what I am saying lol
I see your point. Lol. I think @Sasquatch rolls that way as well. Hes pretty fugly
He never posted in that thread (let me see your beautiful body)?
