Lol this was in the summer too. Wore waterproof clothes to protect from the sh that would inevitably fall right back on me. It was hot.
And on top of being so hard and taking forever and looking like an idiot, i bought pre-bottled (1%?) housewash at 30$/gallon at the hardware store. Dozens at a time 
So yeah… Research this forum and then buy the right equipment.
Lol just found this one… Hand brushing fascia and soffit to avoid damaging them with pressure (prior learning about softwash) …
