Building My Own SW Kit

I don’t see the point if not doing roofs. Roofs are about the only job an xjet can’t get done. Roofs are the only thing I use my 12v for. If it needs more sh than DS can achieve, I break out the xjet. I post treat with xjet too

We do a lot of composite decks (30-80 at a time) in Condo communities and boy does that 12v come in handy.

I’m not that big a business so I do decks with xjet and it’s the most time efficient method to me. No waste and no time spent mixing.

What kind of air system are you running… thing I might switch to a air system over the winter

I use a 3/8 all flo for rust removal
1/2 all flo for roof cleaning
1” price pump for transfer.
The 3/8 is a good pump for moderate use
The 1/2 is great for pretty much all roofs big and small both can be powered by a 5.5 hp air compressor but a 9hp would be better.
The 1” price pump is not a great pump . And requires a 20hp compressor to work well. I didn’t use it for almost two years when somebody made me an offer on the big compressor so I sold it. I haven’t used the price pump since.

I throttle
Down my 390 and as long as I can shoot from the ground I can do roofs with the xjet. As soon as it starts fighting gravity it’s no bueno

Just realized I revived this thread lol

Well done.

Does anyone have any idea on which backpack sprayer i can use for softwashing? Also any tips and tricks that you can share would be greatly appreciated. I won’t be doing roofs. I’m sticking to driveways, fences and sides of the home.

So, do some research here and then ask that question again if you need to.

You can use just about any backpack sprayer you want. If, however, you decide to use a backpack sprayer consider what will happen to you if the sprayer seals begin to leak, a hose clamp comes loose, the bleach mixture splashes and spills through the vented top…all of these are bad scenarios that will lead to sever skin irritation.

Instead, get yourself a 2-gal pump up sprayer designed to withstand harsh/abrasive chemicals such as bleach.

Or look into a 12-volt pump system with a long enough hose on it. Or get one with a short hose and tow it around on a little wagon of sorts.

Or, don’t get any of that and just buy the correct equipment to wash houses.

I want to see a video of cleaning the top of a chimney on a tall 2- story home with a backpack sprayer.

I’ve done worse than that before i found this forum.
Here’s an embarrassing picture of us 4 years ago. Like i said… Just didn’t know any better.

(Cringe)

Lol this was in the summer too. Wore waterproof clothes to protect from the sh that would inevitably fall right back on me. It was hot.

And on top of being so hard and taking forever and looking like an idiot, i bought pre-bottled (1%?) housewash at 30$/gallon at the hardware store. Dozens at a time :sleepy::joy:

So yeah… Research this forum and then buy the right equipment.

Lol just found this one… Hand brushing fascia and soffit to avoid damaging them with pressure (prior learning about softwash) …

LOL, you’re lucky to be alive. Give you a 10 on hanging in there and learning better though.
