Buffer tank - pressure drop

With all respect, it’s not that type of fitting. I know the fitting you are speaking of and you are just seeing the edges of the yellow thread sealant. I will try a couple things tonight and report back. Thanks for the suggestions!

07/23/21 marks this day in history at the young age of 43 my eyesight is failing me. I squinted so hard I almost went cross eyed. I see the gas thread tape on it now lol

@DisplacedTexan eyes are failing him too!

It damn sure looked like it huh? Oh well. I’m already half deaf so half blind can’t be all that bad.

You may want to research things that make you go blind

DisplacedTexan - I saw you referenced Vice Grip Garage in a previous thread, so a guy think’s your okay in his book

Hey, a guy appreciates that!

The wife was giving me a hard time yesterday about having my ringer on my cell so loud. Talking about how old and deaf I must be. I turned it down some and missed calls all day. Well it’s back up now but I’m not going to tell her I tried lowering it

SOLVED: Best I can tell the issue is resolved. Thanks for all the help guys, this really is a great community! I hope this thread helps someone down the road.

I think in my case there were essentially two issues:

1. The spa / hot tub hose sold at Menards seemed too large for the brass fittings and was creating too many vacuum points. FWIW, I did research and confirmed several guys using this hose. With the PVC fittings it was snug, on the three different brands of brass hose barbs, it was just too sloppy and lose.

  1. Not being familiar with the proper priming of a belt drive for pulling from a tank. As Displaced T said, I needed to eaaaasee the throttle on - just a tickle! I took Rick’s advice and disconnected the gun and just let it free flow to prime itself. I ran at low RPMs got a good flow and connected the gun and eased on the RPMs and it works without issues.

I will hope to do some houses this weekend to get more time with this system.

I don’t know what I will do about the internal bypass. I am very aware of my idle time and careful to stay on the trigger if needed to keep the pump circulating. I may look to upgrade to the K7 unloader…I know I should research this but will a K7 give me a bypass fitting? If so, it will be a no brainer.

Anyhow, I am sure I will be back but I can’t thank ya’ll enough for the help!

Mike

Yes they have a bypass on them. If it were me I’d go with a K1, seem to be less finicky then the others, that’s just me….
