Tackled a tough wall project and am struggling to get it clean. There was several layers of paint and varying degrees of dirt, but after treating the wall with about a 2% SH mix the algae/Stains turned a red color. I tried a hotter mix, and I also tried OX Bright. Neither of them helped, any ideas what to try next?
I know it may seem like a silly question, but did you happen to use a pressure washer for this?
To me, based upon your post, it looks like spraying it with SH changed the color of it, which is typically a good sign. But did you just spray it and walk away or did you use actual water pressure to “rinse” wall down?
Let it dwell for about 10 minutes and then rinsed with light pressure. Also tried a soft brush and it didn’t really make any difference.
“If it’s brown it’s down”.
Now you need to use a medium pressure fan tip to get it off if the paint allows. I use my 1500psi tip all the time for this stuff.
Thanks for feedback. I bumped up pressure in a small section and it removed paint. I think it just one of those jobs. Was hoping there might be a chemical that would work.
The SH turned it brown, so it works. Just do a 6% mix and hit it a few times.
