Box Truck Floor Questions - FOR EVERYONE

So these are probably dumb questions, but I have been researching everywhere (I swear) and can’t find the answers. So, Box Truck Floor Questions:

  1. Is it necessary/wise to paint an aluminum floor?
I mean, aluminum doesn’t rust right? And it holds up decent to corrosion right? So do I need to paint it? (I talked with one guy around me and he said no, but drill holes in the 4 corners so liquid drains out. That doesn’t sound right either to me.)
  2. How do I secure my equipment (power washer, reels, buffer tank, etc.) to the floor?
I have inverted T aluminum flooring - see, at least I found out what the flooring is called in my hours of research. Do I drill through and bolt everything? Is the floor thick enough (between the “T’s) for self tapping screws to hold? Do I get it all welded to the floor?

Please help guys. Box truck guys, what have you done? What worked? What would you do differently now? Non box truck guys, what have you heard done? What have you seen done? What is your best guess? Any and all insight greatly appreciated.

Although aluminum doesn’t rust in the same way as steel, it will react with chlorine under the right circumstances. I would coat the floor, at least. A side benefit would be making it skid resistant for worker safety.

You should also look into sealing and venting your chem tank(s). Most of the corrosion seen in enclosed power wash trailers is due to the fumes, not spillage. You can eliminate that risk almost 100% by sealing off the cap vents and running vent and filler tubes through the floor and to the back end of the trailer, where the fumes will do the least harm.
