So I rarely do blind Quotes and decided meh why not. I pull up and there’s wood rot in various areas, the insulation on the high voltage lines coming in from the road were corroded, and so yeah. I call and decline. He insists I just hit the mildew on the brick and clean some concrete areas. I pull out the hoses go to turn on the water and nothing. Go to the meter and it’s been disconnected. So I pack up and leave. That was the only thing I had that day because I just do this on the weekend still. That is one reason I like to drive by and check out the place on the front end. Plus I take the fam out and grab ice cream or something. I did however finish this fence.

What’s been disconnected? Water lines have a valve on them. Some of my customers turn off the water when they leave town. Unless it’s locked you can just turn it back on. If you do that just make sure the meter doesn’t count up after it’s on. If it does they either left water on somewhere or they have a busted pipe.

Locked and the electric meter was blank.
Oh wow. Was the house for sale or anything? I’ve gotten a couple of scammers trying to get quotes saying they will pay online.

Did they say they were in the hospital with rectal cancer?..lol. I’ve had a few say that. They’ve even gotten to where they’ll use an address near your location. It’s usually a house that’s up for sale and they say they just bought it. They say if you do the work they’ll give you a big tip if you run their card for like $3k and give them cash back. They say they need the cash for closing costs or something. I hope they all burn.

I haven’t gotten that deep into it. I can usually tell when it’s all texts and they don’t talk like normal clients.

I didn’t do it. The guy said he was selling the house. Yes I’ve seen some of the scams and caught wind pretty quick. This was a referral.
We get this crap about every other week, my response is always the same…“hahahaaaha”
