No thanks, I will pass on that mess. Can’t tell you how many times I would see the coyotes headed towards the neighbors chicken coop, snaking through the high grass while I was cutting my field. She doesn’t have chickens anymore.

My grandma canned eggs for the winter. She taught me and I forgot but something about using lime. They lasted until spring and were still very tasty

The depression era people canned lots of stuff, were frugal, and knew how to live off the land (not all of them, but most living outside of a city). I’ll have to look into that, I just need them for making cakes and brownies and stuff.

Water glassing. People have done this for hundreds of years to store eggs in winter, but somehow I didn’t know it. I’ve canned all kinds of vegetables and meat, but never heard of doing this for eggs. Now I’m going down a rabbit hole, thanks.
