Bit clearance at lowes YMMV

This isn’t a table pounding buy, but it isn’t bad. I wouldn’t be making a special trip to lowest for it either. I just happened to be buying paint today and found them in the clearance section. Personally I use them for the nuts on the hose clamps, and I seem to lose them all the time too. Anyway, just don’t forget to adjust the torque on your cordless drill so you aren’t cranking the snot out of them if you use the same type I do. They claim to impact rated. My lowest still had a bunch of (what I call) toss em brushes for painting. The 2.5" angled brushes seemed ok in store but the bristles may soften (like cheaper brushes do) when cutting for awhile. They were 7 bucks and were being replaced by newer brushes (same thing - different package but higher price).

here is the pic, full set for $3.97 were $9.98. They also had others in the regular tool section marked down too.

You know when you post letters like that I have to look it up to know what it means

Sorry, it is a slick deals posting term. Your mileage may vary. The reason they write that is that every lowest doesn’t carry the same exact inventories. So, I normally go to a site called brickseek and see what the local lowest has in stock before going, then I check the other lowests near me to see if they have them. I used to be able to go to 2 or 3 and get table pounding buys and resell stuff. It was fun for awhile, but the cook shops ruined that.

Cook shops are places that get a group together that buys and resells inventory (especially mistakenly priced stuff). You pay to get into some of the groups nowadays. It used to be just the sneakerheads, but it is everything now. Sneakerheads are those people that buy sneakers and put them on shelves to look at them, they don’t really wear them because they might crease them. It is funny to me, but to each their own.

I am even more confused now. Sneakerheads.

People that collect shoes. Kinda like people that collect sports memorabilia or something like that.

I get that. How did we get from an abbreviation to sneakerheads?

I think Dirtyboy was Opining about better days when he was able to run around a few stores grabbing good deals and re selling but nowadays people are getting smarter (greedier :stuck_out_tongue: ) and more connected so that good deals are harder to come by now that there are groups of people organizing to do the same thing.

Thats what i got from the posts but @Innocentbystander …YMMV

I meandered my way through the explanation of YMMV and while doing that provided some more terms that you may have been unfamiliar with. I took a moment to briefly explain these terms.

Sorry. It’s winter and I’m bored. I’ve been repainting my addition, but that isn’t fun. I started going to auctions again and doing deals again and started slipping into my old 2nd income stream of buying and reselling. The hunt is fun, and beating other sellers to the item is even more fun.
