Better remote valve?

I’ve been using a US Solid stainless ball valve for my remote injector but it struggles to open most of the time, almost like it really wants more like 30 volts instead of 12. I tried it with my 20v DeWalt battery and it was a lot faster.

Have you guys found a better valve?

The one in the Schertz Box is supposed to be pretty good.

I believe this is the one in the Schertz Box (or is very similar to his). This is the two way version.

Could be. I don’t own one so couldn’t say for sure.

I have the same ball valve. It does open and close a little slow but works fine. I’ve had mine for a year. For the price you can’t beat it.

Lol yeah no kidding, really slow. Mine is taking about 20 seconds to think about opening.

Say I were to get that $220 valve, how would I go about reducing 3/4” to the 1/4” coming out of the injector?

I’m blowing through those US Solid valves like candy. The stainless ball valve is too tight for the electric motor and struggles to open. I even had an issue yesterday where it didn’t fully close and had to yank the diptube from the tank!

Edit: this should be stronger but it’s on backorder "27802" | U.S. Plastic Corp.

Thank you!

That valve from Sprayer Depot, is it normally closed, so when power is shut off it closes on it’s own?

This has worked great for me so far.

Yeah I’ve blown through several of those in a year. Looking for something more reliable.

Are you rinsing it well? Mine have last several hundred hours. How many hours are you getting with them? Curious.

Quality seems hit or miss with these. I got several months out of my first one, then the next would only open part way. Another would open but not close half the time. The actual electronic box was defective.

The main culprit is close tolerances with the steel valve body. Most are absurdly tight and takes a pretty good twist with pliers when I try to loosen it up. This last one they sent turns fairly easily so I’m crossing fingers.

Oh to answer your question, maybe 20-30 hours?

How’s the charge on your battery?

Perfect. I also tried other 12v batteries and even my 20v DeWalt which it seems to like better.

They struggle with full open and close, so when the valve isn’t quite all the way the thing ticks like a clock for several minutes.

Just for future readers of this post, these do have built in capacitors to close the valve once voltage is removed.

Wow, yeah you must have got defective ones. It took over a year before I needed to change it out and I probably could have kept it for a little longer but didn’t.

To be honest I wouldn’t expect any real longevity from a $30 motorised valve. there will be a tonne of good ones out there worth buying instead.
