Best surface washer?

Stick with the two nozzle bar until you get to 8gpm. As mentioned above, the nozzles are just impossibly small below that.

Got it. Thank you both for the helpful info.

You need at least 2 gpm out of each nozzle, that seems to be the rule of thumb anyway. I have never seen any tips lower than#2’s so even if you wanted to try it, you’d be putting out 1100 psi. I’d wait until you get an 8 gpm machine. I was told a 4 nozzle bar wouldn’t work with my 5.5 gpm machine. So I waited until I went to 10 gpms.

How do you like the 10 GPM machine? I have an 8 and have been thinking about buying a used 2 GPM machine and linking them together to test it out.

Let me know how you like it!

10 gpm’s is awesome. The only problem is you run out of water damned fast. Had to add a second feed reel. If you re going to connect another machine, you might as well make it 4 gpm’s for 12!

Yeah good call, I have 2 feeds in place but only a 125 gallon buffer tank. Might be too small but could be fun!
Are you running 1/2" line all the way from the machine to the gun?

No,l not yet. That is next. It causes a little bypass using 3/8. But rinsing with my ball valve, I get full flow. I plan on using 1/2" from the pump to the first 100 feet of hose. That way I can unhook the last 100 feet for driveways where I need the pressure and full flow. then adding the 100 feet 3/8 when I do house washes and pool deck/enclosures. Where I don’t need the pressure. I can get full flow using my ball valve, which I use 75 % of the time.

Whats the best size SC for a 4gpm machine. Only residential right now so just driveways. I was thinking thr whirl a way 16"

Pressure Washing & Roof Cleaning

Another Newbie here… I first bought me a cleaner from Lowes, it sprays out 3 ways. I like it I do the back and forth then I will go back over do a left to right sweep and it cleans up real good for the money $70. I bought a Northstar at auction house $200 I think 23" it has 2 rubber wheels on the back and rollers up front… Does pretty good but I don’t like I really cant go back right to left sweep. You have to turn back and forth. what can make this Northstar do better???
I was wondering out aloud what if I take off the back wheels and front roller wonder if it would sweep ok or be to heavy???
now that is the question of the day

Best at advice I can give us save up and get something like the whisper wash. The time spent trying to make the north star surface cleaner work properly is probably more trouble then it’s worth. Once you try out a whisper wash you’ll know what I mean.

I second the Whisper Wash Classic.

Pressure Washing & Roof Cleaning

Big Guy, all the way

I found this one made by Whisper a little cheaper than the 2000… You cannot use teh 4 nozzle bar on it… $499

Whisperwash UC6019HC - Whisper Wash Ultra Clean 19 in. WITH BRUSH Flat Surface Cleaner hover cover

Whisper wash ultra is a cheaper model because it uses cheaper components. the swivel is not the famous green swivel that’s on the classic. It is still a good unit. It’s like the difference between a Gibson Les Paul and an Epiphone Les Paul. (if anyone is familiar with guitars). If you plan on doing a lot of surface cleaning, then you should probably save $100-$150 more for a classic.

Yea Ralph you are prob right only that much more…
Good advice I needed to hear that and will get the Classic
Tks for the reply

Tell me this my 4000 PSI uses a 3/8 fitting and my 2800 uses 1/4" fitting. Can I be changing the fitting on the Classic if I can uses a customers
water???
