Okay, so I just snagged 100 signs for 200 bucks today. I’m going to probably wait for a decent rain, and then go pop them in the ground around town. Where applicable, I’m also planning to put them high off the ground nailed to trees, as I’m bringing my 8 foot ladder.
Here are some things I do:
Print out tons of flyers and keep them with me in an enclosable folder. I put em on handicap cars, in bathrooms, on toilets on sinks, you laugh but I’ve gotten the calls.
I would like to make a better website than the one I have already.
There is a local guy who claims he can get my website to pop up as the first if someone types ‘Pressure washing’ in google. However, he wants a monthly fee, around 400 dollars. But the business increase would be dramatic. I’m seriously thinking about it. 400 a month is nothing to have your phone always ringing off the hook. Shit, that would well more than make up for having to wake up on Sunday mornings and go door to door with flyers, you know, basically it would give me my weekends back, to have constant work and not have to do the door to door advertising. I also have some leads for business owners, I have their names, so, I was going to cold call. I’m going to get back into this full swing after I finish up some other work I have going.
So yeah please feel free to add things to this thread if you can think of viable forms of advertising
Word of mouth. Do a great job, answer the phone, do what you say you are going to do. Communicate with the customer, and charge a fair price to you and your clients In no time your phone will ringing off the hook. How can someone promise you. that you will pop up first on google? What if there are 10 other experts promising other companies the same thing? for the same keywords? Who is right? Also $400 for one keyword in one area? That will pay for itself during the busy season, then what? Pressure washing is a generic term. It takes a great skill and time to have that pop up first with no other keyword involved. Google will add in your location, but somebody is yanking your chain.
Don’t pay that guy $400 for SEO. Anyone guaranteeing first spot on google can’t be trusted. Talk to @FourSixTwo.digital (Chris Cartwright)
I got our sites to rank very quickly, following Chris’ advice. He knows what he’s doing, and if you can afford his rates, it’ll be well worth the money!! I believe he does all the SEO work for this forum as well as WCR.
Great advice RalphQ. I also use a service called SendOutCards to reach out to customers throughout the year. Not just on holidays but also for “thank you for your business”, “thanks for the referral”, “congratulations”, “with heartfelt condolences” or any other occasion. It really drives my referrals.
I am in professional services, but it works for any biz.
Drive slowly through older neighborhoods and look for the mold. When you find a big rich trust fund stinker, make sure to write up a pre-estimate, and give them the front white filthy ass FENCE FREE on the front of it. as long as you do that, you should get hired. But I like that technique, because you’re kind’ve a dickhead , in the first place, walking onto someone’s property putting advertisements on their porch or whatever, anyway…so, by stating up front that something is free, you identify yourself as reasonable and trusting. Once you get foot in door, make sure to stay on the lady’s good side. ive gotten alot of extra work just from yes maams and smiling tlaking about the daily life in the city etc. Just be nice. smile. show your teeth. it reveals weakness in the animal kingdom, customers eat it up.
@Dogby92 Atcost Printing. These are yard signs I just zip tied to the tote. I don’t remember exactly what I paid, but I think it was like $8/sign including design service. These two signs on the tote have already paid for all the signs twice.
