Best companies to buy from with warranties

What are some good companies to buy from that have solid warranties for their products. Is there any specific place people should be buying their pressure washers from.

ill tell you now CAT will tell you “lifetime” on their pumps and they dont cover sh*t. Also had 2 CAT pumps go in a 9 month period. Converted to general pumps and am satisfied

I have not really used warranties in the past. When you purchase a machine and something goes wrong you have to contact the manufacturer of the part right? You also have to register your warranty when you purchase it right?

I haven’t heard any positive stories from guys who had something fixed or replaced under warranty related to pressure washing.

I know many people hate the big box stores, but I buy 4 gpm from Home Depot. Home Depot has no issues with return and replacements.

If you use it once but after a couple dozen jobs it might be difficult.

I was looking at a north star 5gpm@3000psi machine. Seems like a happy medium. A guy I used to work with had one and they sent him a replacement pump after he did some stupid crap and broke it.

2 year warrenty and 1 year if you buy from northern tool

Can’t say I would ever buy it though.

I am pretty much warranty illiterate.

If Home Depot offered an 8 gpm it would just be more expensive junk. I know guys who use to buy 2 Home Depot 4 gpm Dewalts every year and toss them when they fail usually after 4 months

Found this for general pump

Makes me not want to purchase their equipment. The north start crap 5 @ 3000 has a 2 year warranty on commercial use.

No idea how good or bad one of those pumps are. Don’t think anyone would work on it either :\ Warranty seems great though.

Just read it again and the general pump warranty seems okay?

Three year warranty. Take back and get a new one.

I still use my NT machine.
Their insurance is the best.
I still have it running after 5 years.
Never had an issue with anything from NT, you can walk in tell them you dont like it and they will replace on a heart beat.
Their commercial insurance covers the machine if it falls off the back of the trailer.

Which machine do you have? Does it have the north start pump?

Yes 3.5@4k same type model with a hot box
I also have another one 8@3.5k but not from NT.

North star pump 3.5@4000 with a belt drive correct?

Are you also referring to the 4gpm hot box add on from North Star?

Yep, those

So they are the harbor freight of some mediocre equipment that they plan to replace anyways. Does not sound bad to me.

I called Northerntool and their extended warranty is voided if you get any repairs or replacement parts / claims on the item even before their warranty starts.

Not liking the lacking electric start though.

If you always service the machine with them then you still have their warrantee and extended warrantee.
