Battery meter

Will one of you tech savvy guys tell me if this will work on my 12volt roof systems.

I want to mount the device to my box to tell me how much battery i have left before it goes died. If this the right device?

I don’t see why not, the reviews say it works well as a battery charge meter for various types.

It should work fine as long as you program for the correct battery i.e. Flooded Lead Acid Verses Absorbed Glass Mat. You don’t have a gel battery unless you spent a ton of money.
They have different voltage thresholds as to what constitutes a full charge.Flooded is 12.65v AGM is 12.9-13.0. Doesn’t sound like much but a flooded cell is 50% discharged with a resting voltage of 12.2.

I use a multimeter when I want to check readings on my solar farm. One less thing to draw current.

Solar stinks ,my Democratic friend…

Solar keeps my fridge running at the cabin and all the lights and TV. And I’m a constitutionalist lol. No Democrat or Republican voting going on over here

I’m not opposed to that. But solar is no moving parts and there isn’t always wind in the middle of the woods. We have a windmill kit from a sponsor but haven’t even had time to set it up yet

@Grizz this is the one I got like 25 bucks on Ebay tells me voltage and I ran my pump, reel, lights, and fan. Bonus 12 plug and two USB plugs

@Grizz I found this which makes me suspect it would not be a good fit for our type of environment.
Warm Tips: The tester cannot be exposed to direct sun for a long-term or be used in lower-20℃ or higher 60℃, which will reduce the service life of the tester.”
If it were me I would check out this one, have no experience with this particular one but I have with many like it.

Crap i already ordered it. Mine will be mounted to this box. I guess i could put it on the inside to keep it out of the sun.

What the beer switch do?

Im running 2 of these daisy chained together. I wonder if the meter will still read the charge with them daisy chained.

Lol. I totally missed seeing the beer switch. :joy::joy:! Good eye @Grizz

If by daisy chain you mean in parallel i.e. Pos to Pos and Neg to Neg it will read them as one battery. You will still need to check them every so often individually to ensure they are balanced. If you have one older battery and tie it to a new one, the new one will prop up the older one but your not going to have quite as much capacity as the volt meter shows.

Was meant for @Firefighter4hire

Got the same kind of switch today but just a 3 way for the box. There’s a video I sent this morning
