Attaching hose to reel

Did a search…

Do I use a quick connector for attaching hose to reel or just directly connect it?

Definitely use a QC. If that hose ever blows and you have it hard plumbed you’ll be cussing yourself while you spend 20 minutes fighting the hose trying to get a wrench in there to disconnect.

Rodger…thanks.

Oop, wait…got a problem.

Nice reel! @DisplacedTexan has a good point but I don’t have mine quick connected avoid that extra inch or two sticking out

It seems to be hitting the frame. I may have to ‘hardwire’ it.

The angle on that fitting on the drum seems really weird to me. I’d take a picture of mine but it’s not a Titan and it’s all put away in the garage right now. Surely someone with a Titan will come along and bestow their knowledge on us.

If it were me, I’d cut the black piece in half and/or just buy a 45 degree angle QC attachment to help turn it down.

Depends on the reel. I use coxeeels and I have room for a qc. It came in super handy today when I got to my last job and realized I was on fumes in the pw tank. Rookie mistake. I already had all my hoses stretched. So I just unplugged the qc and went around the block to the gas station.

It’s also handy when you have an emergency bathroom situation.

First you need a street 45 fitting. And no, I don’t know anyone except now @DisplacedTexan who puts a q/c there. Yes the screw in ones can be pain to get off, but no more so than a q/c that’s been on there for a year.

I ended up cutting that black reinforcer in half and screwed the hose on. If it gives me problems I’ll ask the Southside guys if they have a 45 degree.

Get to try everything out next week! I’ll do a test run first of course.

Done at once on each of my hose reels in the past two months. Definitely use a quick connect.

Where are you sourcing that fitting from?

Any distributor who sells reels will have

We do on all of our pressure reels. It has saved us many times. Spray a little wd specialist every couple weeks when it’s unrolled and you’ll never have an issue or copper anti seize works well too.
