Anyone try these boots?

I wear mine 5-6 days a week all day. I prefer the Wolverines for comfort over the Xtratuffs. So the extra $40 was worth it from that standpoint alone.

I wish my xtra’s weren’t so flat footed and slick on the bottom. I’ve slipped here and there on some steep hills. These look more supportive and the tread is better for gripping then the xtra’s

Another reason I have to switch to wolverines. Better foot support

I have some gel inserts in mine. They do wonders.

gellin like a felon? Gellin like magellan? 396 solutions isn’t gellin.

Sorry had to do it, that commercial stuck in my head.

Haha. Nice.

I have a pair of the wolverines and a pair of redbacks that I got in 1998. They wear great but aren’t waterproof like the xtratuffs.

I haven’t had these let water in yet.

I wear muck edgewaters with the $7 sport insoles from Walmart 5 days a week all day. I usually buy two pairs a year. They don’t work well on roofs. So I keep a pair of cougar paws in the truck.

I hope they’ve made improvements over 20 years Lol

Don’t cougar paws sell different pads for different roof types? Do you have to replace the pads quite often?

I plan to get a pair

Redbacks were worn out but wife had the retreaded awhile back.

I like my Xtra’s but my lower back bothers me if I wear all day because they’re so flat. The problem I have with a more cleated bottom around here is all the red mud, makes it easy to track over something you’ve already cleaned. I scream at my helper about twice a day for doing it. The Wolverines do look like they would have better support and looks like they make one w/o too aggressive tread.

Pads are good for about 3 days of continuous use cleaning gutters.

I have the performers. They do sell replacement pads. I say the pads last longer than 3 days. I use them for all roofs and Christmas light installation. Currently I have a total of about 40-50 hours of roof time on these pads and they are in decent shape. If you plan on being on steep roofs and/or lots of gutter cleaning they do wear out faster.

As far as performance, I haven’t found any boots/shoes that can compete with them.

Geez. Bunch of tenderfoots. Y’all need to go back to your youngin’ days where you could run on gravel without needing a week off work. I used to fill my cowboy boots full of rocks and sticks that I had deemed special or worthy of keeping and run all over hell and back like that.

But seriously, the Xtra Tuff boots are very flat and do bother my back after a while. I only wear them while I’m actually washing. As soon as I’m done rolling up my hoses I switch back into Crocs or tennis shoes. I like the Crocs because they let your feet breathe like you’re not even wearing shoes. Not to mention they’re probably the best looking shoe ever made and they come in 4WD for sticky situations.
