Anyone have experience with a Brute 4000psi?

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this type model of power washer. I know they’re discontinued but I can pick one up new for about $600 brand new. My 10 year old washer just went out and I had been using that to do neighbors driveways and sidewalks and I’m looking to step up but want to make sure I have a workhorse that will get me through the next 2-3 seasons while saving up for a more professional machine. Any comments/suggestions?

It’s your money so do as you wish. my first p.w. was a used 4gpm, 4k psi Honda, GP pump, with a hose, sc, gun and nozzles for $400.

If you literally have the money go for the best you can afford off the bat. Maybe this one EB5525HG 5.5 GPM @ 2500 PSI GX390 Honda GP Pump
Or shop locally if you can.

I regret not getting a belt-drive when i got my second machine. I’m doing fine though, no problems yet.

What ever you get, get at least 4gpm, aim for 5.

What will be the advantages to having 5 vs 4?

The speed of rinsing is the primary one, but clean a test spot on dirty concrete with a 4 gpm and then a 5 gpm. That extra 20% makes a noticeable difference. I run both, but only the 4 when water pressure is low on a house. I rarely use the buffer tank.

Anyway. I’d prefer to run my 5 gpm any day over the 4 gpm and next year I plan to run an 8 gpm on a flatbed dually with a 500 gallon tank. I’ve had two situations this year where I had to subcontract a bigger company because my set up isn’t really self contained. Still have to run a hose to the buffer tank.

Not to mention most machines with pumps higher than 4 tend to have better pumps. You can go to Home Depot or Menards, where I’ve seen the Brute machine I think you’re talking about, and find 4 gpm machines, but the pumps are garbage.

Trust me on that.

About time you started spending some of that money you’re making.

Haha I think so too… next year I’ll cut my marketing budget to 50% instead of 60% of revenue. Ha!
