If you find one that can take 100 psi incoming, send me the info. There are pumps rated at 100 psi for the output, but you have to read the manuals to see what they can take incoming. I can’t remember the brand of the 7gpm I tested years back, but it wasn’t until testing and seeing how bad it leaked before I read the manual on it. I can’t remember exactly, but I thought it like 30 psi max incoming. My house spigot is about 70, so it leaked pretty good.
These cheap chinese pumps I use don’t seem to care. After a lot of use, they start to leak a little, but it doesn’t effect them. I’ve yet to have one die, they just start to get weak or leak after time. I hang them motor side up and have a drip pan with a drain hole under them for if that happens.
I thought I’d read that some Delavan pumps (maybe the Remco Fatboy as well) shouldn’t exceed 125 psi inlet pressure, but now that I think about it, that might have applied to their lower-GPM models or been referring to open flow conditions.
Edit: Only literature I’m finding is for their 5800/5900 (2 - 5 GPM) series pumps. I might be misunderstanding what they claim here, but that seems to imply it can be force feed.
I was at Northern Tool today & saw a 2.5 gpm / 3000 psi electric washer that was literally a direct drive Cat bolted to a 230v motor. I checked their website & they have them up to 8 gpm. They only run with the trigger open. I would imagine a golf cart motor or a table saw motor could easily hit 4 gpm / 1000 psi.
