Anyone had this Awning Cleaning Difficulty?

Hi Gents,

We are cleaning Awnings and following a 5% mix and dwell time. The customer sent this picture with a yellowing she feels we may have caused this.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Jeremy

Did you take photos of property before working?

Negative, my employees did not clean when washing the house as these were installed after our clean last year.

This is a regular customer.

SH brings them up so we will attend to treat again.

We are thinking wood oils in the wood framing above the awning or something in the awning roller.

We have cleaned hundreds of awnings and not seen this happen.

Yep, here’s your solution.

To be fair, the customer ghosted us bc they really didn’t want to pay, so I just called it even and never got to try it out…but we learnt us sumthin’ ‘bout cleanin’ them awnings, always make sure they are unrolled after a wash, lol

You are a true gent! I purchased some Prochem Rex today and will update this post.

Thank you very much!

Update. The awnings had an aluminium track that was collecting chemicals and would travel back up the awning. We went back out, washed again with SH, rinsed thoroughly and drained the aluminium track several times. We let the awning dry fully rolled out. The results were fine.

I did by the awning acid recommended for yellowing above but did not get to try it as customer was happy with the results.

Thank you to all who assisted me with this.

Was this one of those Sunsetter types? I’ll have to remember this.

Here is a picture for your reference. Notice the aluminium tracks (with end caps) that run along the bottom.
