Anybody offering Covid 19 disinfecting and sanitizing?

Just wondering. What we do pretty much covers it. CDC recommends SH at .12% to kill viruses including Covid. We use .8-1.2% so we claim to use 8-10X the strength recommended.

I don’t know. I made an ad for it today. See how it goes. I offered 1X cleanings and weekly cleanings for businesses.

Thought I’d share it in case some are slow with all this going on.

I have slowed some but now I can breathe.
Was so busy I could barely keep up. Not really looking for that much action. I’m 45. Its retirement time lol

No. I don’t think it’s wise to try to talk people into services they don’t want or need. Unless you’re going inside and cleaning like a janitorial service it’s pointless.

The license required is different and has been discussed here. It’s also been discussed that offering this service without licensed is being monitored by the EPA and later on they intend to slam everyone with fines. I don’t recall the thread but it’s worth searching for.

I never talk anyone into any service.
I don’t even upsell.
They contact me asking for a service and that’s the service I perform.
I never push any services.
I place ads with what I offer and wait for calls.
Just how I do it.
I figure if they want a service performed they’ll ask.

Ill look into it for sure. Didn’t realize it required a license. Cancelled ads until I research further. Thanks for the heads up

I believe @CaCO3Girl mentioned sanitizing required a pesticide license or exterminator license. Worth researching to be sure.

@Seandz if you have it in your heart to accept my apology for my blunder I will forever be in debt to you. J rod is a man of wisdom, honour and maturity. I’m ashamed of what I have done. I’m sorry.

I can’t find much on it. I do see you can get certified by OSHA but can’t find anything on whether you have to be.
Still not moving further with the service until I find out for sure. Don’t need the headache. I do see other Soft Washing Companies offering it. I might contact them for some info.

I am all 3 but like most…not always. Though I strive to be.

It comes down to this, are you stating you can sanitize kill or remove a living item, such as a virus bacteria or mold? If so you are making a pesticidal claim.

If you make a pesticidal claim you have to use a pesticide that has been registered for the claim you are making. The claim such as kills viruses, removes the virus, removes mold or the like has to be word for word found on the label. No deviations are allowed. Literally if there is a comma in the wrong place you have to include the error in your advertisement because otherwise it’s an illegal pesticidal claim.

Some people think well we KNOW bleach kills mold so we can just say that. Nope! If you claim you can kill mold you have to use an EPA registered SH, that means with a real epa registration number, created at a real epa pesticidal production facility that reports the yearly amount made and is labeled specifically for pesticidal use.

I thought that Only applied if you claim to disinfect, and that since sanitize is not a 100% guarantee that word can be used loosely. Is that not true?

Myself I just decided not to fool with it. Don’t need the headache.

Leave the “sanitizing” stuff alone. No one wants it anyways and you will get in a heck of a lot of trouble if the right person sees what you’re doing.

https://www.lawbc.com/index.php/regulatory-developments/entry/epa-posts-fact-sheet-on-determining-if-a-cleaning-product-is-a-pesticide/

“ EPA states that products are considered to be for a pesticidal purpose "if the person who distributes or sells them claims, states or implies that they can or should be used to prevent, destroy, repel or mitigate a pest.”

Ask yourself, if you say “sanitize”, are you IMPLYING you are getting rid of a living thing? I think the EPA will.

I believe “remediation specialist” is the term. Requires a license in my state.

@marinegrunt it’s strange that I joked with you about saying this just to troll and now it has been posted lmao.

The best thing you can do to be safe and keep others safe is wear your mask, stay distanced, and wash you cloths in spray and forget so it will kill any microbes within 6 feet of you as you walk around.

[MOD note: I can’t believe I have to add this, but people are morons. That last part’s a joke. Please don’t use spray and forget on your clothing]
